| Mission Statement
In recognition of Arthur Erickson's outstanding artistic contribution
to our nation and the world, it is the goal of the Foundation to
preserve the house and garden of Arthur Erickson as a permanent
Canadian heritage site open to the public for education and inspiration.
Objectives
In order to fulfil the goal of the Mission Statement, the Foundation has established the following objectives:
• To hold the property debt and lien free
•To maintain, manage, and operate the property to provide access for the education and appreciation of the public
• To prepare guidelines for the conservation as well as the long-term
maintenance and operation of the house and garden as a public resource
• To establish an endowment to secure the maintenance, preservation and operation of the property
• To present it as a unique cultural resource for the education and inspiration of Vancouver residents and visitors
• To obtain municipal heritage designation of the property
• To expand its membership, strengthen its board, and create an advisory panel of Honorary Directors.
• To continue the education program through informative guided tours of
the garden for students, professionals and the public
• To increase public awareness with a brochure, a video, web-site, and a newsletter
